Tuesday’s Girls Golf: Aberdeen Edges Rochester

Aberdeen needed every point at Riverside Golf Course on Tuesday, defeating Rochester 38-34 in an Evergreen 2A Conference girls golf match in Chehalis.

Aberdeen’s Katie Lewis earned medalist honors with 18 points and Ryder Heikkila finished second with 17 points. Rochester’s Kylie Miller took third with 16 points and Alex Anderson tallied 10 points for the Warriors.

Rochester travels to Newaukum Valley Golf Course on Friday to take on the Bearcats in an EvCo match.

Black Hills Fends Off W.F. West

TUMWATER — W.F. West had four players record double figures in points, but it wasn’t enough as Black Hills won 92-72 in an Evergreen 2A Conference girls golf match at Tumwater Valley Golf Course on Tuesday.

McKenna Canty earned medalist honors for Black Hills with 33 points. Senna Yim finished second with 23 points for the Wolves.

Elizabeth Twining led the Bearcats with 19 points to finish third, recording a par on a Par 5. Makenna Klovdahl tallied 16 points and Aeryn Elder and Laney Barker each scored 14 points.

Emma Finley scored nine points and Macy Gaudette rounded out W.F. West with two points.

“Our goal is improvement. This was a success for our girls, they had fun and played well,” W.F. West coach Bruce Thompson said.

W.F. West is back in action on Wednesday, hosting Centralia at Newaukum Valley Golf Course.
