By The Chronicle
ELMA — Elma scored three goals in the first half to cruise to a 6-1 win over Tenino in a 1A Evergreen League boys soccer game here on Friday.
The scoring started on a goal by Elma’s Canon Seaberg in the 11th minute. Rodrigo Luna scored for the Eagles a minute later and the Beavers scored an own goal in the 21st minute. The Beavers scored their lone goal by Chris Ramez in the 34th minute for a 3-1 Elma lead at halftime.
Seaberg tallied his second of the game in the 43rd minute and Jose Torres got on the scoresheet in the 49th minute. Alexis Bautista concluded the scoring in the 77th minute.
Goalkeeper Devin Billings made seven saves for Tenino in the loss.
“Elma was a tough team. They had good team speed and were able to put us under a lot of pressure,” Tenino coach Kevin Schultz said. “We didn’t pass the ball the way we have the last two games so we need to try and get back to controlling the ball better our next game. We can’t give the ball back so easily and constantly be defending and expect to not give up some goals.”
Tenino (1-2-1, 1-1) hosts Forks on Monday in a league game.
