By The Chronicle

MORTON — Dylan Richards recorded a double-double to lead Morton-White Pass to a 57-50 win over Mary M. Knight in a non-league boys basketball game here on Saturday.

Richards scored 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Kaleb Rashoff tallied 15 points and was one rebound shy of a double-double with nine boards. Hayden Young added 10 points and Gavyn Higdon had nine rebounds for MWP.

Eddy Krippelcz led the Owls with 20 points and Zack Thompson chipped in 10 points.

Mary M. Knight shot 36 percent from the field compared to MWP’s 30 percent shooting, although the T-Wolves had 20 more shots than the Owls. MWP also dominated on the boards, outrebounding Mary M. Knight 54-33.

Mary M. Knight led 13-12 after one quarter, but MWP regrouped and gained a 30-28 lead at halftime. The T-Wolves created some separation in the third quarter, holding the Owls to six points and held on in the fourth quarter for the win.

“We tried a few different things offensively and defensively. We played a lot deeper into our bench and I thought our young guys played well,” MWP coach Chad Cramer said. “I thought we handled some of the stuff we were doing OK. Some of the stuff we didn’t do quite as well. In the third quarter, we went back to the things we normally do and did some stuff we’re more comfortable doing. It’s good to get back in the win column.”

MWP (10-7, 2-5) will host Wahkiakum in Randle on Friday in a Central 2B League game.
