Monday’s 2A Boys Golf: Centralia Edges Rochester

Centralia’s Rudy Voetberg shot a 44 to earn medalist honors, leading the Tigers to a 273-277 win over Rochester in an Evergreen 2A Conference boys golf match at Riverside Golf Course in Chehalis Monday.

Rochester’s Brayden Norquist finished in second with a 48 and teammate Ethan Worden placed third with a 51.

Nolan Rice shot a 52 and Brett Wasson fired a 54 for the Tigers. Porter Harris carded a 58 and Luke Lennox rounded out Centralia with a 64.

Rochester’s Marcus Ashton recorded a 55, Colton Winters shot a 61 and Logan Fry fired a 62 for the Warriors.

Both Rochester and Centralia will be back on the course next Tuesday and Wednesday at the District 4 2A Boys Golf Tournament at Riverside Golf Course, with tee times beginning at 9 a.m. on Tuesday.
W.F. West Narrowly Falls to Aberdeen

ABERDEEN — Andrew Kim led W.F. West with a 43, but the Bearcats came up just short as Aberdeen won 226-231 in an Evergreen 2A Conference boys golf match at Grays Harbor Country Club on Monday.

Aberdeen’s Brendan King earned medalist with a 40. Aberdeen’s Jaxson Larson tied Kim with a 43 to tie for second place.

The Bearcats’ Jaron Howell fired a 44, Bryce Dobyns was right behind him with a 45 and Wyatt Magnuson shot a 46. Jordan Waring carded a 53 and Brady Hinds rounded out W.F. West with a 56.

W.F. West is done with the regular season and will prepare for the District 4 tournament next Tuesday and Wednesday at Riverside Golf Course.
