Tuesday’s 1A Baseball: Spartans Take Advantage of Miscues in Win Over Tenino

TENINO — Too many mistakes in the field cost Tenino here Tuesday in a 7-3 1A Evergreen League loss to Forks.
The Beavers committed seven errors in the game, with five of those coming in the fifth and seventh innings — in which Forks scored six of its runs.
Pitchers Dylan Stakelin and Logan Brewer combined to hold Forks to five hits in the loss.
“Our pitchers did fine,” Tenino coach Conner Hogue said. “We just played awful defense. It really looked like they just wanted it more.”
Brewer went 2 for 3 for Tenino, while Riley Wright was 1 for 2.
Tenino (6-9, 5-6 league) hosts Forks again on Wednesday.
