Tuesday’s Girls Golf: Canty, Wolves Top Rochester 109-47

TUMWATER — Black Hills’ McKenna accounted for 35 points, and the Wolves topped Rochester 109-47 in an Evergreen 2A Conference girls golf match.

Canty shot a one-over-par 37 at Tumwater Valley Golf Course, which worked out to 35 points using a modified Stableford scoring system.

Mati Ashton shot a 56 for 16 points to lead Rochester.

The Warriors did, however, play a bit better than their last time out, according to coach Kyle Sprague.

“Everybody was improved from our first match,” Sprague said, noting that sophomore and first-time golfer Alex Anderson shot a 62 — an improvement of over 40 strokes, good for 10 points.

Allison Beagley added 10 points for the Warriors, who play Tumwater, also at Tumwater Valley, on Wednesday.
