Friday’s 1A Baseball: Beavers Lose on Road Trip to Forks

By The Chronicle
FORKS — A big sixth inning was just what the host Spartans needed here Friday in a 7-4 win over Tenino in Evergreen 1A League baseball action.
Forks put together four hits, with a Tenino error, a walk and a sacrifice bunt, to score six runs in the sixth inning.
“You’ve got to give them credit. In the sixth, they hit the ball,” Tenino coach Conner Hogue said. “But we also had some plays we could have executed better.”
Tenino had four errors and seven hits in the loss, and catcher Spencer Brewer went 2 for 4 at the plate.
“Every kid made a good play here or there,” Hogue added. “But every time we grabbed the momentum, it was just taken back.”
Tenino (0-4) hosts Rainier Saturday at 1 p.m.
