Tuesday’s 2A Boys Basketball: Bearcats Thump Rochester

The Bearcats left little in doubt on Tuesday, topping Rochester 75-21 in Evergreen 2A Conference boys basketball action.

Carter McCoy led W.F. West with 21 points, with Tyler Speck chipping in 14 — 12 of which came on four first-quarter 3-pointers.

W.F. West led 24-5 after a quarter, and held Rochester to just four second-half points.

“It was a great effort by our guys, coming in and working hard later in the game,” W.F. West coach Chris White said.

Dirk Plakinger added seven points for W.F. West, while Kayden Kelly scored three with 10 assists. Max Taylor chipped in nine points, all from behind the 3-point arc.

W.F. West (12-5, 5-2 league) plays at Aberdeen on Friday. Rochester (0-17, 0-7 league) hosts Tumwater on Friday.
