Monday’s Prep Volleyball: Loggers Fall to Ducks

ONALASKA — Toutle Lake was too much for Onalaska here on Monday as the Ducks won with set scores of 25-16, 25-10 and 25-10 in a Central 2B League volleyball match.
Eryn Duryea tallied 10 kills, 30 digs and served 10 of 10. Sophia Leal served 11 of 11 with 38 digs. Senior Samantha Laughlin was 1 of 1 serving and fellow senior Sammy Sherman added a kill.
The Loggers had a good night at the service stripe, with Raelee Holmes serving 4 of 4, Carmen Cleveland-Barrera serving 2 of 2, Keiley Fickett was 5 of 5 serving and Dakotah Fuller was 2 of 2.
“The scoreboard didn’t show it but we played with a lot of energy and that’s what we’ve been struggling with,” Onalaska coach Terri Dalsted said. “I’m proud of the girls for their effort and energy all night tonight.”
Onalaska (6-7, 4-5) travels to Kalama on Wednesday to wrap up the regular season.
Pirates Top T-Wolves in Five
MORTON — Adna and Morton-White Pass battled for five sets here on Monday night, with the Pirates prevailing 3-2 in a Central 2B League volleyball match.
MWP won the first set, 25-23. Adna bounced back and won the next two sets, 25-21 and 25-19. The T-Wolves had an answer of their own in a 26-24 fourth set win to force a decisive fifth set. Adna was able to take that set, 15-11.
MWP’s Chloe Kelly had 32 assists and Shaylee Peters tallied 10 kills. Delanie Hannah contributed 13 kills and Katie Salguero added 10 kills.
MWP coach Tammy Kelly noted the great night for Hannah and also noted the great group of senior girls on senior night, including Hannah, Rylie Dantinne, Emmalee Hazen and Emilie Dawson.
MWP (1-12, 1-8) hits the road Wednesday to take on Toutle Lake.
