Thursday’s Boys Tennis: W.F. West Takes Down Eatonville
By The Chronicle
EATONVILLE — The Bearcats dropped just one doubles match to earn a 5-1 win over Eatonville in a non-league boys tennis match here on Thursday.
W.F. West’s Gabe Cuestas won in the top singles match against Cobey Uhls, 6-4, 6-1. Luke Walters earned the win against Eatonville’s Scott Snyder, 6-1, 6-0. Christian Iverson helped the Bearcats sweep the singles matches, defeating Ladd Wickander, 6-4, 6-2.
“I thought Gabe played really well. It took a little bit for him to figure out the kid he was playing,” W.F. West coach Jack State said. “He was patient until he got a higher percentage chance and did a nice job of adjusting. Luke played really well, we didn’t see any mental errors that he made. I was really pleased with the way he played the game.”
In doubles, Eatonville’s top duo of Quade Richards and Alex Mitchell defeated Collin Slattery and Caleb Walters, 6-0, 6-4. W.F. West’s Joseph Chung and Jacob Blomdahl earned the win against Brandon Baker and Austin Frink, 6-0, 6-1. Theo Holmes and Jacob Moeckel took the win against Eatonville’s Justin Hieptas and Ethan Moore, 6-2, 6-0.
W.F. West (6-2, 4-1) travels to Tumwater on Monday for an EvCo match.
