Tuesday’s Cross Country: Rainier’s Niemi Wins at Central 2B League Meet in Kalama

KALAMA — Rainier’s Selena Niemi earned the win as the Mountaineer girls won the team title as well at a Central 2B League cross country meet here on Tuesday.

Niemi finished the race in 21 minutes, 31 seconds. Teammate Sophie Beadle finished in second place with a time of 21:39. Onalaska’s Jennifer Reiman placed fourth with a time of 24:36.

Rainier’s Clara Wagner (26:15) finished eighth and teammate Lorianne Price (27:30) finished 10th.

Rainier’s Lauren Jones (28:23) finished 11th and Haily Tyrrell (28:50) finished 13th. Onalaska’s Samantha Conner (28:40) earned 12th place and Adna’s Melli Wolf (29:09) earned 14th place.

Rainier won with 29 team points. Trout Lake took second with 37 points and Kalama earned third place with 63 points.

In boys action, Rainier’s Dylan Davis finished sixth with a time of 19:04. Adna’s Aaron Aselton earned seventh place in 19:19. Rainier’s Ryan Doidge placed eighth in 20:12 and Mossyrock’s Christain Paz Tapia finished ninth in 20:22.

Rainier’s Tyler Barlass (20:44) finished 11th and Onalaska’s Jacob Russon (21:09) placed 12th. Rainier’s Benjamin Johnson (21:26) finished 15th and Onalaska’s Lethon Fitch (21:31) took 16th. Mossyrock’s Miguel Gomez (21:43) finished 17th, Rainier’s Thomas Ronne (21:59) took 18th and Onalaska’s Devon Wright (21:59) finished 19th and Trevor Blair (22:07) earned 20th.

Trout Lake won with 22 points. Rainier placed second with 50 points and Kalama earned third with 61 points.

Adna is back in action next Tuesday at a C2BL meet in Rainier. Mossyrock travels to Toutle Lake next Tuesday for a league meet. Onalaska travels to the Toutle Lake Invitational on Saturday.
