Saturday’s Women’s College Soccer: Trailblazers Sneak by Chokers
By The Chronicle
Centralia College rode a strong defensive effort to a 1-0 win over Grays Harbor here on Saturday in NWAC West Region soccer action.
The win was the fourth in a row for the Blazers, tying the longest win streak in program history.
The teams were deadlocked in a tie for the first 48 minutes before Joanna Pingel chipped in an unassisted goal to give the Trailblazers the only lead they would ever know. Centralia managed to put up 21 shots in total with 16 of those on target.
It was the defensive end where the Blazers really showed off by allowing just two on target shots all day long. Goalkeeper Bethany Dinh kept both of those those shots out of the back of the net to preserve the win.
Centralia (5-3-1, 4-1 league) will host Highline next Saturday.
