Tuesday’s Boys Soccer: United Defeats King’s Way Christian 9-0

VANCOUVER — United’s Andreas Malunat tallied four goals to lead the combo squad to a 9-0 win over King’s Way Christian in a 1A Trico League boys soccer game here on Tuesday.
In the first minute, Gustavo Barragan scored on an assist by Edgar Barragan for an early lead. Malunat tallied his first of the game in the fifth minute on another assist by Edgar Barragan. Isaac Garibay scored in the 10th minute and Jessee Weeks scored in the 15th minute with both goals assisted by Gustavo Barragan for a 4-0 lead at halftime.
Malunat scored in the 44th minute on an assist by Isaac Cruz and Malunat scored again in the 49th minute unassisted to complete the hat trick.
Gustavo Barragan scored his second of the game with an assist by Malunat in the 56th minute and Malunat scored his fourth goal in the 62nd minute on an assist by Garibay. Matthew Ethridge scored in the 75th minute on an assist by Gustavo Barragan for the final goal of the night.
Alan Contreras made one save in the clean sheet for United.
“I played everybody. The main thing is we’re finishing, the finishing will come in the tougher games too,” United coach Horst Malunat said. “We struggled in that department with all those ties. It’s good we’re putting it in the back of the net.”
United (3-0-4, 3-0) hosts Seton Catholic in Winlock on Thursday for a league game.
