2B Girls Basketball: South Bend Too Much for Trojans

South Bend Too Much for Trojans

PE ELL — Charlie Carper scored 11 points, but the Trojans suffered through a rough shooting night here Friday in a 41-29 Pacific 2B League loss to South Bend.

Carolann Baldwin added 10 points for Pe Ell, but the Trojans were just 10 of 56 (18 percent) from the field.

Still, Pe Ell trailed by only four midway through the fourth quarter.

“We were very much in the game. We just had some missed opportunities tonight,” Pe Ell coach Chris Phelps said. “We’re actually doing some great things. We’re doing the right things. We’ve just got to find a way to put the ball in the basket.”

South Bend scored all 10 of its points in the fourth quarter from the foul line.

Pe Ell (4-14, 4-12 league) hosts North Beach on Monday. A win will guarantee Pe Ell at least a pigtail game into the District 4 tournament.
