“I was immensely happy with them. The last two games, we were hurting, both skill wise and mental wise,” Napavine coach Emily Boettcher said. “We had a little pow wow to get our juices flowing again. I was very proud of them.”
Boettcher noted the performance of Williams in the middle and Makensee Taliaferro-Bouge’s performance on the right wing for the Tigers.
Winlock coach Brian Ziese was pleased with his team’s performance despite the loss.
“Barragan just had a great game. The biggest thing that helped us was coming back. I didn’t know how we would react but they still had some fight in them,” Ziese said. “They were still battling and didn’t fall. Our fifth shooter to win the game hits the pole and we steal one from them. The soccer gods weren’t in our favor.”
