MWP Sweeps Home Meet

RANDLE — Napavine’s Mollie Olson won four events, but Morton-White Pass came out on top of both sides of a Central 2B League track meet here Thursday.

Olson, a senior, swept the hurdle races, taking the 100-meter hurdles in 15.52 seconds, winning the 300 hurdles in 49.90, taking the long jump at 15 feet, 7 inches, and winning the triple jump at 32-03. The Tiger girls came up short against MWP in the team standings, however, 80-66.

On the boys side Napavine’s Draven Riddle, a junior, won the 100 (11.46 seconds), the triple jump (41 feet even) and the long jump (18-11.5), and finished third in the high jump (5-08) for the Tiger boys, who took second to MWP in the team standings, 94-58.

Takoda Seymer won the 1600 (5:24) and the 3200 (11:68) for MWP and took second in the triple jump, while Levi Clements won the 110 hurdles (18.40) and the 300 hurdles (45.06). Tristen Storey won the 200 (23.78) and ran a leg on the winning 4×100 relay with Marcos Garcia, Manuel Martinez and Jesse Urban. Seymer, Clements, Urban and Martinez won the 4×400 relay as well.

Napavine’s Noah Lantz won the javelin (156-08), and Hayden Thompson won the shot put (34-08.5) for the Tigers. Chase McCarter added a win in the pole vault at 10 feet.

Winlock’s Noah Patching won the 400 (55.81), Bryce Cline won the high jump (5-10) and Logan Hall won the discus (97-07) for the Cardinals, and Onalaska’s Jedidiah Wagoner won the 800 (2:18).

On the girls side, MWP’s Kaylen Collette won the 800 (2:54), the 1600 (6:21) and the 3200 (14:10), and ran a leg of the winning 4×400 relay with Jacie Dunlap, Julianna Draper and Elexcious Hampton. Kylie Heimbigner won the javelin (89-05), Emily Elswick won the discus (93-04) and Jaylea Rahenkamp won the 400 (1:19) for MWP.

Calyx Pope added a win in the high jump (4-06) for Napavine.

Onalaska’s Mckinzie Pannkuk won the 100 (13.50), and Betty Granman won the 200 (28.56). Pannkuk, Vandee Pannkuk, Granman and Hannah Cameron won the 4×100 relay, and Mckinzie Pannkuk, Granman, Cameron and Becca Griel won the 4×200. Vandee Pannkuk won the pole vault at 5-06, and Carmen Cleveland-Barrera won the shot put (33-04.75) for Onalaska.

All four teams are back in action on April 12. The Tigers host a C2BL meet, MWP runs at Mossyrock, and Onalaska and Winlock will both compete at Toutle Lake.


Mossyrock Throwers Shine at Rainier

RAINIER — Mossyrock’s girls swept the throwing events here Thursday during a six-team Central 2B League track meet.

Jamie Carlson won the javelin at 116 feet, 3 inches — beating out teammate Paige Moorcroft, at 104-09 — and Ava Nelson won the discus at 100-04, an event in which Carlson took third. Heather Edgar won the shot put at 32-02, with Carlson again finishing third.

The Viking girls finished second to host Rainier in the team standings, and won all three relay races. Stephanie Fried, Maleah Nixon Klein and Sarah Lovan had a hand in all three races, working with Faith Mulligan to win the 4×400 (4:35), teaming with Jillian Cournyer to win the 4×200 (1:56), and bringing in Grace Lovan to win the 4×100 (54.35). Fried added a win in the 200 (27.41 seconds).

Adna’s Tori Lange swept the girls hurdle races, winning the 100 hurdles in 18.87 seconds and taking the 300 hurdles in 56.11.

On the boys side, Adna’s Bo Moon won the javelin at 157-05, and Austen Apperson won the 3200 by well over a minute at 9:39. Chief Leschi’s Maartin Cornyn finished second in 11:01.

Mossyrock is back on the track April 12, hosting a C2BL meet, while Adna runs in Napavine the same day.


Toledo Sweeps Wahkiakum Meet

CATHLAMET — Toledo won both ends of a four-team Central 2B League track meet here Thursday, with Pe Ell’s boys taking second.

Andrew Schulz and Kaleb McCalden each won three events for the Trojan boys. Schulz, a junior, won the long jump (19 feet, 9 inches), the 100 (11.47 seconds) and the 200 (23.84). McCalden, a senior, won the high jump at a personal-record 6-04.5, won the discus at 115-01, and won the 110-meter hurdles in 16.59.

Ryan Shepherd won twice for Pe Ell, topping the triple jump at 39-01.5 and winning the 300 hurdles (45.34). Shepherd, Schulz, McCalden and Willy Ames teamed up to win the 4×100 relay at 47.15.

Toledo’s Nicholas Marty won the 1600 (5:11) and 3200 (11:26) and took second in the 800. Ethan Buck took second in the high jump and javelin, Jacob Butcher was second in the 100 and the 200, and Cody Harris was second in the 1600 and the 3200.

On the girls side, Toledo’s Abigial Rowe won the 100 (13.56) and the 200 (29.44), while Ashley White won the 1600 (7:13) and Nyssa Castro won the 300 hurdles (58.94). Emily Tyner won the high jump (4-08) and Ally Bacon won the javelin (118-03).

Bacon, Rowe, Kal Schaplow and Alyssa Gaskill won the 4×100 relay (54.72), and Gaskill, Rowe, Tyner and Stacie Spahr won the 4×200 (2:02).

Pe Ell’s Maggie Elliott won the long jump (13-10) and the shot put (26-02).

Toledo runs in Napavine on April 12, and Pe Ell runs in Mossyrock on the same day.
