Tuesday’s Girls Tennis: Centralia Defeats Three Rivers Christian

Centralia and Three Rivers Christian each won three matches, but the Tigers won the match 52-40 on games in a nonleague girls tennis match here on Tuesday.
Centralia’s doubles pairs all won their matches. Rachel Wilkerson and Carissa Kaut won in top singles, 6-1, 6-0. Danika Jensen and Gracie Wiley won handily as the second doubles pair, 6-1, 6-0, and Shannon Johnson and Angelica Vercoe won against their opponent without dropping a game.
In singles, Bailee Williams topped Centralia Ruth Hopkins, 6-1, 6-3. Abby McCracken defeated Centralia’s Emily Grove, 6-0, 6-1 and Mabrie Richards took down Centralia’s Monica Jiminez-Solano in a close match, 7-6 (7-5), 7-5.
“I’m really proud of my girls. We were experimented with different No. 2 and No. 3 doubles combinations and they played very well together,” Centralia coach Deb Keahey said. “We are very proud of their effort today giving up only 2 games in their matches.”
Centralia (2-0) travels to Yelm on Thursday for a nonleague match.
