“I thought we played very well. I thought Katie Adkins threw well enough and I thought Jeorgi Ritzman, behind the plate, did a fine job,” PWV coach Ken Olson said. “And, of course, our hitters continued to do what they do and that’s hit the ball.”
Jenna Jones had a pair of doubles, and an RBI, for Winlock, while Cheleena Squibb had a pair of hits and two RBIs.
Sabrena Barragan was 2 for 2 at the plate and Winlock coach Chantel Nelson noted a beautiful bunt by Destiny Gifford.
The Titans scored 20 runs in the first inning, batting through the order twice before the third out was recorded.
“They are a good team,” Winlock coach Chantel Nelson said. “I told the girls that it’s just a learning game. We can’t expect them not to hit the ball; all we can do is put ourselves in the right position.”
PWV (2-0) will play in Centralia’s jamboree at Fort Borst Park on Saturday at noon before resuming C2BL games on Tuesday hosting Toledo. Winlock (0-2) travels to face Onalaska on Tuesday in a league game.
Morton-White Pass Cruises Past Wahkiakum
