ROCHESTER — A dual wrestling meet between Rochester and Tenino came down to the final match, and Tenino’s Dalton Chambers earned a pin to help Tenino earn a 42-40 win in a nonleague wrestling meet here on Friday night.
Down 36-40, Chambers, at 138 pounds, wrestled Rochester’s Christian Soria, and the match was tied at five to force overtime. In the second overtime, Chambers was able to get to his feet to earn a point and pinned Soria in the next overtime period to earn six points for a Beaver win.
“Our team did amazing. Everybody battled,” Tenino coach Mike Morales said. “Dalton Chambers really came out to win it in double overtime, he came out and got his one. He was riding the guy tough, a pin opportunity came up and he took the pin and got us 6 points to go 42-40 to a win. Awesome, awesome match by everybody.”
Tenino’s Dakota Whitaker (145), Kevin Lomax (170), Tyrick Weyrauch (195) and Robby Marti (22) all earned wins by pin.
Rochester’s Jayden Lancaster (152), Eulises Tinoco (182), Ryan Cohron (285) and Riley Cohron (132) each won by pin.
“I thought we did OK. We took our lumps,” Rochester coach Jason Dick said. “I think we could have been a little bit better. We worked really hard; it’s just we’re young.”
Rochester’s Reese Cohron (106), Jay Brant (120), and Dallin Schlect (126) each earned wins by forfeit. Tenino’s Cutter Copeland (113) won by forfeit.

Tenino is back on the mat Saturday, traveling to Eatonville for a 9:30 a.m. start in the Cruiser Classic Tournament, while Rochester is also back in action today, hitting the road to wrestle in a tournament at Fort Vancouver.
