2A Boys Basketball: Lollar Leads Rochester Past Elma

ELMA — Bryce Lollar scored 20 points, and Rochester built a lead over the first three quarters to put away Elma, 51-41, here Tuesday in nonleague boys hoops action.

Stephen Robinson added 8 points for the Warriors with 11 rebounds, and Cody Vollan led Elma with 14 points.

Rochester coach Mark Goldrick said that, while the win was certainly nice, his team didn’t play quite as well as it had in a tight loss to undefeated Morton-White Pass on Saturday night.

“I think any coach would agree that a win is easier to regroup after and look at than a loss,” he said, “but coming off a pretty decent game on Saturday, this game probably isn’t going to get it done for us.”

The Warriors shot 20 of 51 (39 percent) from the field, but led 33-24 after three quarters.

“The ball didn’t go in the hole, and it’s just one of those nights where things are just a little bit off,” Goldrick said.

Rochester (3-2) hosts Woodland on Wednesday.
