State 2B Volleyball: Vikings Reach Semifinals After Topping Brewster

YAKIMA – Mossyrock faced a test against Brewster, but the Vikings powered past the Bears 3-1 in the State 2B Volleyball Tournament quarterfinals here on Thursday.
Mossyrock faces Northwest Christian (Colbert) at 11:45 a.m. on court two at the SunDome in the semifinals, while Colfax faces Life Christian in the other semifinal.
The Vikings won set one 25-11, but Brewster answered with a 25-23 second set win to even the match. Mossyrock held off Brewster 25-23 in set three and finished the match with a 25-20 set four win.

Mossyrock Survives Against Walla Walla
YAKIMA – The Vikings opened the State 2B Volleyball tournament with a tough five set match, but Mossyrock prevailed 3-2 against Walla Walla Valley Academy here on Thursday at the SunDome.
Mossyrock dominated the first set, 25-5. Walla Walla won a close second set that needed extra points, 29-27, and earned the third set 25-15 to take a 2-1 lead.
The Vikings dug deep and won the fourth set 25-15, and persevered in the fifth set 15-13.
