2A Girls Soccer: Hockinson Blanks Bearcats in District Opener

HOCKINSON — The Bearcats couldn’t get any offense going here Saturday, falling to Hockinson in the first round of the District 4 2A Girls Soccer Tournament.

The Hawks (11-4-2) got goals from Megan Meindersee and Brooke Grosz to secure the win. They’ll take on R.A. Long on Tuesday in a winner-to-state semifinal match in Hockinson.

W.F. West (8-9) will face Black Hills on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in a loser-out consolation match at Tumwater District Stadium. The Wolves (13-3) lost to R.A. Long, 2-1, on Saturday, with Sydney Lowe scoring in the second half for Black Hills.

The Bearcats lost to Evergreen 2A Conference champion Wolves twice, 7-0 and 3-0, in the regular season.
