Monday’s 2A Boys Golf: Black Hills Edges Rochester

Tyler Cassell shot a 36, and Black Hills beat Rochester 220-262 on Monday in an Evergreen 2A Conference boys golf match at Riverside Golf Course.
Marcus Ashton led Rochester with a 44.
“Marcus is getting back on track and trending in the right direction heading into the district tournament,” Warrior coach Kyle Sprague said.
Ethan Worden added a 53 for Rochester, while Brayden Norquist and Marcus Corrento each carded a 54.
“I keep trying to remind the guys to play each shot and have fun,” Sprague said. “The scores will be in their favor if they eliminate the numbers in their minds and just hit each shot.”
Carson Hughes shot a 42 for Black Hills, which had four players under 50.
Rochester hosts Tumwater, back at Riverside, on Wednesday.
Aberdeen Defeats Centralia

ABERDEEN — Brett Wasson led the Tigers with a 45, but it wasn’t enough as the Bobcats defeated the Tigers 230-270 in an Evergreen 2A Conference boys golf match at Grays Harbor Country Club on Monday.
Rudy Voetberg and Nolan Rice each shot a 50 for the Tigers. Centralia’s Porter Harris shot a 62 and Jackson Buzzard carded a 63.
Centralia will play at Newaukum Valley on Wednesday against twin city rival W.F. West in an Evergreen 2A Conference match.
