Legion Baseball: Chaffey Bumps I-5 Toyota/Mt. Dew in Reno

RENO — Chaffey Baseball jumped out to a 6-0 lead and survived a rally by I-5 Toyota/Mountain Dew here Thursday for a 14-4 win.

The loss, at the University of Nevada-Reno, dropped the Centralia squad to 1-2 in pool play at the Josh Anderson Memorial Tournament.

Tyson Guerrero had a double, a triple and three RBIs for I-5 Toyota, and Nole Wollan added a hit and an RBI.

I-5 Toyota scored four runs in the second inning to make it a 6-4 game, but couldn’t get back on the board.

“We just kind of went away, offensively,” I-5 Toyota assistant coach Jake LeDuc said. “We had runners and couldn’t cash in.”

I-5 Toyota (5-5, 1-2 tournament) will play Fairfield, California, at 11:30 a.m. Friday morning.
