ABERDEEN — Aberdeen and W.F. West were able to avoid the rain as the Bobcats defeated the Bearcats 92-60 in an Evergreen 2A Conference girls golf match at Grays Harbor Country Club on Monday.
Carly Noble led the Bearcats with 18 points, using the modified stableford scoring system. Kate Balmelli was close behind with 17 points.
Haley Simmons recorded 12 points and Whitnee Herr added eight points. Payton Gifts scored five points and Abby Link rounded out W.F. West with three points.
Aberdeen’s Haley Farrer earned medalist honors with 24 points, with teammate MacKayla Waltee adding 21 points in second place and Mari Raybung finished in third with 20 points.
“The girls are having a good time and improving, but we didn’t feel hugely improved at Grays Harbor Country Club,” W.F. West coach Bruce Thompson said. “It was fun watching them hit shots, but it didn’t turn into a lot of points.”
