W.F. West’s Marissa Reynolds Named Athlete of the Week for Princeton
Marissa Reynolds helped Princeton University’s softball team to a four-game sweep of Penn last week, and picked up the Suburban Transit GoPrincetonTigers.com Athlete of the Week award for her work.
The senior and W.F. West product went 8 for 15 (.533 average) on the Tigers’ 5-0 week, adding four walks for a .632 on-base percentage and hitting a double and a home run to slug .800. She had three multi-hit games during the week, closing the Penn series by going 3 for 3 with a home run, two walks and three runs scored in the Tigers’ 12-8 win in Sunday’s finale.
Nationally, Reynolds ranks 10th in on-base percentage (.560), 11th in slugging percentage (.849), 13th in batting average (.452) and 24th in doubles per game (0.34).
The Tigers, winners of seven in a row and 14 of 17 to stand at 18-13 overall and 10-2 in the Ivy League, lead the Ivy South by three games over Columbia. Princeton will host Columbia for a pair of doubleheaders this weekend.
