Monday’s 2B Softball: Titans Dominate Chinooks

KALAMA — Pe Ell-Willapa Valley played six total innings against Kalama here on Monday, sweeping a Central 2B League softball doubleheader 27-0 and 18-0.
The Titans scored 27 runs on 16 hits in Game 1, scoring 11 runs in each the first and third innings.
Katelyn McGough was 3 for 4 with two doubles, five runs and four RBIs, and Brittany Patrick was 5 for 5 with two doubles, a solo home run, two runs and seven RBIs.
Katie Adkins was 3 for 5 with three doubles, four runs and three RBIs and Sid Pollard had a two-run home run.
Dakota Brooks struck out two while allowing one hit in the win. Brooks was also 2 for 4 at the plate with four runs and five RBIs.
Game 2 was the same story, as PWV scored 18 runs on 17 hits. Patrick was 3 for 3 with a two-run homer, two doubles, two runs and four RBIs.
“I can’t say enough about Brittany (Patrick). I can’t remember the last time in 22 years that anybody was able to do what she did today. That’s a special day, without question,” PWV coach Ken Olson said of the freshman.
Pollard was 3 for 3 with a double, two runs and two RBIs and Brooks was 3 for 3 with two doubles, three runs and three RBIs. Railey Smith was 2 for 3 with two doubles, two runs and two RBIs for the Titans.
Kamryn Adkins earned the win in the circle for PWV.
“We’re just swinging the bats well. We’re getting double-digit hits every game,” Olson said. “We’ve got some kids that can hit and they’re showing it. It’s just an all-around good start to the season.”
PWV (12-0, 12-0 league) hosts Rainier in Pe Ell in a C2BL doubleheader on Wednesday.
