2B Track: Napavine’s Olson Wins Four at C2BL Meet

TRACK: Mollie Olson Finishes First in Both Hurdles, Long Jump and Triple Jump in Onalaska

ONALASKA — Mollie Olson won four events here Thursday in a Central 2B League track meet, helping her Tiger girls to a second-place team finish.

Olson, a junior, won the 100-meter hurdles by almost 2 seconds in 16.37 seconds and won the 300 hurdles by over 3 seconds at 51.35. She added wins in the long jump (a personal-record 15 feet, 9 inches) and the triple jump (34-01) to wrap up her standout performance.

Onalaska’s Mckinzie Pannkuk won the 100 (27.91) and 200 (27.91) and ran a leg of the winning 4×100 and 4×200 relay teams with Phoebe Rich, Betty Granman and Hannah Cameron. Carmen Cleveland-Barrera added a win in the shot put (32-03) for the Loggers, who took third as a team.

Toledo, which won the girls meet, got a victory from Ally Bacon, who tossed the javelin 114-11 to edge teammate Kal Schaplow (99-09) for first. The Indians got second-place finishes from Abigail Rowe (100 and 200), Alyssa Gaskill (800), and DavinaGrace Ramon (300 hurdles and high jump). Rowe, Schaplow, Bacon and Gaskill also teamed up for second in the 4×100 and 4×200.

Napavine’s Xoee Pope won the 400 (1:07.78), Mossyrock’s Gabby Brockway won the discus (77-04) and Pe Ell picked up a pair of wins, from freshman Emily Justice (high jump, 4-06) and Savannah Johnston (3200, 14:14).

Visiting Ketchikan, Alaska, won the boys meet, with Toledo taking second and Pe Ell edging Napavine, 81 to 80.5, for third.

Joe Wallace won the high jump at 6 feet and took second in the javelin, behind teammate Ethan Buck (137-0), to lead Toledo. Trace Bybee was second in the 200, and Buck, Isaac Ferrell, Duke Schaplow and Jacob Butcher were second in the 4×400 relay.

Pe Ell’s Jonah Yost won the shot put (39-08.5), and teammate Kaleb McCalden won the 110 hurdles (16.98) and finished second in the 300 hurdles. Andrew Schulz won the 400 for the Trojans (56.10) and took second in the 100, while teammate Bradley Prestegord was second in the discus.

Napavine’s Conner Locke set a season record to win the 100 in 10.84 seconds, and added a victory in the 200 (23.90). He also anchored the winning 4×100 team with Hayden Lester, Cole Van Wyck and Draven Riddle (46.29).

Onalaska’s Zach Wright swept the distance races, taking the 1600 in 5:11 and the 3200 in 11:10.

Mossyrock’s Levi Munoz won the triple jump in 41-0.5 and took second in the long jump.

Toledo and Mossyrock will both run in Adna’s C2BL meet on Tuesday. Pe Ell will run at Napavine’s eight-team C2BL meet on Wednesday, while Onalaska is idle until the Chehalis Activators Classic April 21-22.
