2A Softball: Tigers Drub Hoquiam in Opener
By The Chronicle
HOQUIAM — Centralia pounded out 14 hits in five innings here Monday to open the season with a 14-3 nonleague softball win over Hoquiam.
The Tigers led 10-1 after two innings.
“We were pleased,” Centralia coach Mike McDonald said. “Defensively we made some big plays when we needed them, our pitching was fairly sound, and for the first time on dirt and seeing fly balls in the outfield, we didn’t hurt ourselves.”
