Thursday’s Prep Soccer: United Takes Down Centralia

United defeated their second straight 2A opponent, earning a 6-1 win over Centralia in a nonleague boys soccer match at Tiger Stadium in Centralia on Thursday night.
United scored four goals in the first half, and added two more late in the second half to earn the victory. Gustavo Barragan, Jonathan VanVleck and Isaac Garibay each scored goals for United. Centralia scored a goal in the second half on a penalty kick to ruin the clean sheet for United.
United (2-1) will open up 1A Trico league play on Tuesday, hitting the road to face Stevenson. Centralia (0-2) will face Montesano on the road on Tuesday in a nonleague contest.

W.F West Earns First Win Over Tenino
The Bearcats earned their first win of the season, defeating Tenino 5-0 in a nonleague boys soccer match in Chehalis on Thursday.
Liam Radtke scored two goals for the Bearcats. Brayden Mauermann, Jacob Ford and Francisco Monzon each scored a goal for W.F. West in the win.
The Bearcats’ Alex Brummer started the game in net, and Thomas Koenit came on in relief in the second half, helping keep the shutout in tact for W.F. West.
Tenino had an injury and only played with 10 players, and W.F. West played with 10 to even the game for the Beavers.
“It was a really good game, we did everything we didn’t do Tuesday. We just weren’t there and we did a lot better today,” W.F. West coach Tino Sanchez said. “We had a lot of good connection passing. Hats off to Tenino, it was hard on them but they didn’t quit.”
W.F. West (1-1) will travel to Kelso on Wednesday for a nonleague game. The Bearcats will host an alumni fundraiser game on Saturday in Chehalis.
